How GetRid Works
GetRid makes it simple to sell items you no longer need and find great deals on second-hand goods. Here's how our unique bidding system works:
For Sellers
1. List Your Item
Create a listing with photos, description, and set your minimum acceptable price. You can also specify a pickup location in New Zealand.
2. Receive Bids
Interested buyers will submit bids on your item. You'll receive notifications when new bids come in. Bids remain private between you and each bidder.
3. Accept or Counter
Review bids and either accept an offer or send a counter-offer. You can also decline bids that don't meet your expectations.
4. Arrange Pickup
Once you accept a bid, coordinate with the buyer through our messaging system to arrange pickup details and payment.
For Buyers
1. Browse Listings
Search and filter through available items in your area. View photos, descriptions, and pickup locations to find what you need.
2. Submit a Bid
Found something you like? Submit a bid with your best offer. Your bid is private and only visible to the seller.
3. Negotiate
The seller may accept your bid, counter with a different price, or decline. You'll receive notifications about the status of your bid.
4. Complete the Purchase
When your bid is accepted, coordinate pickup and payment with the seller. Always meet in a safe, public location when possible.
